Senior Engineering Manager (F/H)

Description

Reporting to the Project Director of the Global Engineering, you will lead and develop the safe implementation of major capital projects worldwide, including process design development, procurement, installation & commissioning.


You will have the following responsibilities:


Lead Engineer for major capital projects



  • Provide feasibility studies, specifications and budget estimates for capital projects

  • Lead the implementation of approved capital projects including site installation and commissioning – support to project manager

  • Ensure efficient handover of projects ensuring full documentation, training, support etc.

  • Lead development of processes to deliver best performance at lowest cost giving due regard to safety, operability, maintainability and legal compliance

  • Lead continuous improvement of process plant design

  • Provide global support and expertise to existing businesses within Saint-Gobain for process, quality development and improvement.

  • Keep abreast of developments within the company/works and engineering sector to ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain’s WCM (World Class Manufacturing) programme and ‘Best Practice’ initiatives.

  • Ensure that Health and Safety issues are given the highest priority within all stages of project definition and implementation consistent with the company’s and site’s Health and Safety policy, external Regulations/Legislation and Guidance notes.

  • Ensure that reporting and document control within the project are accurate, timely and suitable for purpose.


Internal communication



  • Ongoing working relationships with Business Owners in the Countries, GE project managers, plant operations staff and managers

  • Communicating effectively across a global remit and at all levels ranging from Company project managers to Operations staff.

  • Support local project teams, including operations staff and external contractors.


As it is an international job position, you will need to travel to several plants, visit suppliers and other Saint-Gobain locations worldwide (max. 30% travel time).


The job position is based at Rantigny, France.
