Additives & Board Performance - R&D Process Engineer

The Gypsum Process Innovation department (GPI), part of the central Saint-Gobain Technology and Industrial Performance (TIP), has a new position available for an R&D Process Engineer. This role will report to the Additives & Board Performance team Manager.
Describe the duties of the post: 
Among the key responsibilities of this role, we can mention the following main duties:

• Deepen the understanding of the additives used in the plasterboard, their processability, interactions with other components of the production process   formulation ingredients or production parameters) and impact on the board performance.


• Provide technical support to ensure that plants can access additives and produce products at the targeted board performance.


• Propose and evaluate the potential of new additives or new additive combinations at the lab scale and at the industrial scale, from the design, conduction and analysis of lab test and plant trials.


• Lead and put in application at the industrial scale R&D studies conducted in transversal centers of Saint-Gobain, related to the choice of new additives or new recipes developed in agreement with the strategy of product development teams


• Capitalize the know-how in technical documents (report, note, Safe Operating Procedure…).


• Accelerate the protection of our know-how and innovations with the submission of new ideas that could be transformed into strong IP positions.


• Share the knowledge between plants and local teams and communicate best practices, through the contribution to the different trainings sessions that we organize.

This position will be based in Vaujours (Paris area). It may require punctual travelling time to visit some of our key production sites during the weekly working days. Possibility of remote working hours up to 2 days a week, in agreement with the team manager.
